Something New....

II Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

The most amazing thing about the journey that I'm on its realizing that I'm a completely different person. I might look, walk and talk the same, but I'm a whole new woman. Out with the old; in with the new.

A splash of paint doesn't make an old house new. A new engine in an '87 doesn't make it a 2012 model. Eventually keeping the old will lead to the same old problems. The old house will still have a sinking foundation. That '87 will still need a new transmission.

I've realized that when we give our life to Christ, the verse doesn't say that He redecorated us or gave us a makeover! He created us all over again. He came in with the wrecking ball and tore it all down. Then took the time out too create us all over again!!

The beauty of it all is that, as a new creation, its a whole new life. The past is really the past. It's a done deal. We are made new, plain and simple.  It's time to deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow Him!!!

JUST MIND YA "BIDNESS" Pt. 2

LUKE 10:38-42
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked,"Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41 "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed;or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

This passage touches my heart dearly...

As Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, she was at the perfect place to learn. Her mind and heart was in the right place and she was exactly where she was supposed to be. However, ( once again) carnal minded people think carnal thoughts. Leave it to her sister, Martha, to get in her feelings and then have the audacity to question Jesus!!! Jesus had to check her... He literally told her to leave her alone!!!

Of course Martha was doing the typical womanly things like the cooking and cleaning, but Mary knew that at a time like that, she had to be close. She situated herself in the right place, which is at the feet of Jesus. She was at the throne of grace getting everything that she could!!!!

Once again, Mary didn't have to utter a word!!!! Jesus automatically speaks on her behalf!!! He does the samefor us! If our God is for us, who can be against us??? Nobody!!!! When we are about our Father's business, doing what we are called to do, those carnal minded with their carnal thoughts need to hear one thing and one thing only..."Just Mind Ya Bidness!!!"

JUST MIND YA "BIDNESS" Pt. 1

Mark 14:3-9 (NIV)
3 While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. 4 Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, "Why this waste of perfume? 5 It could have been sold for more than a years wages and the money given to the poor." And they rebuked her harshly. 6"Leave her alone," said Jesus. "Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.

FYI:
The woman spoken of in this particular passage is Mary. Not Jesus' mom, rather Mary with the Alabaster Box.... STAY WITH ME...

The carnal minded always have carnal thoughts...

When Mary gave her offering to Jesus, the disciples automatically got in their feelings, or, as the dignified would state, was speaking in the flesh. They outwardly spoke against her. The Bible says that they had indignation towards her, which Webster states as anger aroused by something unworthy. To the disciples, this particular offering could have been used for monetary gain. This is the carnal minded thinking those carnal thoughts.

However when Jesus heard them speakingagainst her, He told them to leave her alone. Jesus knew why the Fatherled her to give such an offering. It was to prepare Jesus body for His death and burial. Jesus knew they didn't understand, because mentally they weren't prepared for what was coming. Jesus had to take control, and basically tell them to mind their business. To the carnal minded it was a waste, but to Mary, she was doing what she was called to do. Funny thing about it is Mary didn't even have to utter a word. Jesus immediately stood up for her. If our God is for us, who can be against us??? If we are truly about our Father's business there is NOTHING that ANYBODY can do about it except to MIND THEIR OWN "BIDNESS"!!!

Confidence Check: Realizing The Reflection is Beautiful

Psalm 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Tall....
Short...
Petite...
Chunky...
Thick...
Black...
Brown...
Red...
Natural...
Weavy Wonder....

The list can go on and on and on and on and on and.... YOU GET MY POINT...

However what we need to realize is that all of these words are synonymous with one word: BEAUTIFUL...

For years, and sometimes still, I struggled with accepting what I see in the mirror as beautiful. I catch myself saying things like, "Woo girl! Who beat you with the ugly stick?" Or, " Another sandwich and you'll outgrow this mirror!" ( DON'T JUDGE ME!!!) However, as a daughter of the King, I have to remind myself who I am, and most importantly WHOSE I am.

The Bible says that we are ALL fearfully and wonderfully made!!! The beauty we see in the mirror is more than accurate. We need to learn to see what He sees.

In the text, the word 'fearfully' means: with great reverence and heart-felt interest and respect. The word 'wonderfully' means: unique, set apart, and marvelous. POW! Not only were you just created, but you were thought about, loved, and revered!!? He realized the great love and concern that went into His unique and very individual creation. According to this Scripture, you are truly are a Piece of Work!!! You are Sumthin Else!!

So the next time you stare at those pretty eyes in that mirror, realize that God doesn't make mistakes, and the reflection is accurate!!! You are, indeed, fearfully and wonderfully made!!!!

My Mama Said: CHECK YO SELF AT THE DOOR!!

As a woman, meeting the mother of your significant other is a very big deal. We always want to make sure everything is on point for this first encounter... Hair laid; nails done. We might even rock stockings and a girdle complete with a knee length skirt just to impress! However,WE ARE LOOKING AT ALL THE WRONG THINGS!!!!

Like I said before, if we are the woman that God has called us to be, his mama will notice. HOWEVER, if you are as fraudulent as that knee length skirt you put on to please her, she sees right through it. We as women know when someone is going to far to try to fit in or be something that they're not. We read it. His mama is the same way, just tenured.

However, if you go in as yourself, being the woman that God has called you to be, she had no choice but to accept what's real. She reads it in the hug... in the speech... in everything.... She's looking for the spirit in you, and that spirit in her should agree with the spirit in you. CHECK YO SELF AT THE DOOR!!!! See if you're ready to fill the shoes that he's leaving to cleave to you. Are you all that you're supposed to be... Have you obtained your Proverbs 31 status????

My Mama Said....A True Mama's Boy... PT 1

Of course everyone knows that Proverbs 31 gives the groundwork for a woman of God. However some people fail to realize who the instructions are spoken through. Proverbs 31 is the words of King Lemuel, however he's speaking what his mother taught him... Proverbs 31:1 says, "The sayings of King Lemuel—an inspired utterance his mother taught him."

PAY ATTENTION.... Of course the sistahs always say they don't want a mama's boy, but at the same time a real mama's boy knows what a good woman is... Why??? Because he's been beside a strong woman his whole life!!!! Some mama's boys come from two parent households where the mother played the strong yet very nurturing role. While their father was the disciplinary, their mother was their soft spot. However, most mama's boys were raised by single women that worked hard so that their children could grow to be very successful. Who gets the fruit of the labor? We do, if we are what we are called to be!!!! The woman of the household...The support system of his leadership...

Why is he successful?
Why is he a good man?
Why is he so intuitive to our needs as a woman?
Simple...His MAMA taught him...And because God allowed it...

On the flip side of that...His mama also taught him the traits of a good woman, and how to spot out a not so good one... THAT'S WHERE THE DRAMA COMES IN...However, if you are indeed the woman that God has called you to be...his mama wont be mad...

TO BE CONTINUED...
